This listing is for a special set of old hand painted English china service plates hand decorated in the classic and beautiful Chelsea Bird multi panel design style with insects and flowers in eight different versions.This listing is forASET of EIGHT (8) ANTIQUE ENGLAND CHELSEA BIRD Gold ANCHOR Marked HARD PASTE CHINA DINNER PLATES HAND PAINTED;scalloped, beautifully decorated old 9 1/4 inch Service Plates; highest quality workmanship; stunning design, detailed hand decoration; Cobalt Blue and Gilt, beautifully hand decorated with multiple layered panels of birds, insects, flowers and leaves and a central Chelsea Style Bird. The outer bands and verge are beautifully decorated in cobalt blue background and extensively hand painted with gold swags framing the featured insects and birds; all on afinebright white blank. These fabulous old plates are in very good condition with wear loss of hand painted gold; relatively few heavy use marks; and no chips, cracks or crazing. We have provided multiple photos to clearly display the condition; if you have any questions, please ask. Seven of the eight pieces are marked with a hand painted gold anchor that looks like the English Chelsea pottery mark (see photo) ... it appears to be Chelsea... consistent with apparent age and quality this set is a fine example of older English china typical of Chelsea, Davenport, Minton and a few other top Staffordshire potteries. We were told that it came from a wealthy New York City family estate. Enjoy the photos!
