The Faberge Imperial Chess Set showcases the extraordinary work of Igor Carl Faberge. It is a Heavy Chess set.

A very rare and long time discontinued item by Franklin Mint. No more of these will ever be created. It is fully handmade.

It is a limited edition - only 1500 worldwide sold in 1984 for $4500.00. It was sold exclusively by Franklin Mint and was created by the House of Faberge by private commission. The footed wood and marble board is very heavy - it weighs approximately 15 pounds. It measures approximately 16 inches square and is approximately 3 3/4 inches tall. The fully hallmarked chessmen range from 1 1/2 inches tall - just under 3 inches. Under the base of each chess piece is stamped .925, SOLID STERLING SILVER

Designer - Igor Carl Faberge Playing Pieces - 32 individually crafted chessmen. Carved onyx and jasper.

Gemstones - Rubies, emeralds, sapphires, cultured pearls, amethysts, tourmalines, aquamarines, citrines, garnets, jade.

Precious metals - Gold Vermeil - 24 karat gold electroplate on solid sterling silver.

Playing Board - Polished Marble

Chest - Solid Rosewood with storage, fitted with the engraved signature of Igor Carl Faberge is a brass plaque engraved \'\'The Faberge Imperial Chess Set\'\'

Bottom wooden feet come off easily but glue back on. 2 pieces came apart but were fixed as well, cannot tell which were fixed. Very nice set, it has been in storage since the late 1980s
