Description
Antique French mantel clock circa 1870 with glorious golden case and finely detailed hand-painted porcelain panels. The clock stands on its original, gesso wooden plinth and comes with suitable winding key and original pendulum. The 8 day, Japy Freres mechanism is bell striking, in good working order and clean condition.

Weighs 4.1kg before wrapping. Stands 15\" high, 11.5\" wide and 4.75\" deep. The dial is 3.5\" across.
The clock is generally in lovely condition. There is some loss to the finish in evidence and a break to the garland on the left though this rests in place fine. The case is indistinctly signed to the reverse by its maker.
A truly beautiful looking clock in traditional, aristocratic style...
