In this sale, Encore21Century is offering for your consideration this splendid c. 1895 to 1900 Hallmarked Sterling Silver Floral Art Nouveau Repoussé Match Safe.

The shape is elegant, narrow, richly decorated, perfect for a lady’s purse. Both sides of the Case have flowers, leaves and deeply engraved swirls surrounding an un-monogrammed cartouche. We make an extra effort to find Match Safes that do NOT have monograms, giving you the option to keep it as is or add your own initials.

The safe is hallmarked on both exterior corners of the case - some of the letters have rubbed smooth after years of use. The lid opens with a strong hinge and closes with a snap. The ridged striker is on the bottom of the safe. The condition of this piece is Excellent with a very minor indentation on one Cartouche.

The safe measures 2.5 inches high by 1.25 inches wide. It weighs 14 grams.

This will make a lovely addition to any collection of fine Match Safes.
