These area quite stunning pair oforiginal majolica large decorative vases with the blackamoor figures ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the19th century.

Dating about c1880.

Of a European origin.

Hollow bases with an incised number underneath.

Wonderful majolica colouring anddecoration.

A left and a right.

Large vases with the blackamoor figures.

Girl figurine carries a basket and melon.

Boy figure carries to baskets.

Both are dressed in wonderful dress attire. .

Both figures are mounted onto the decorative bases with the large vases to the rears with the majolica flowers and leaves.

Eachhas an overall heightof about 18.5inches.

Max overall hollow base sizesofabout7 x 5.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition isvery good and:

the female is subject only to minor areas of glaze chipping.

Similar to the male with:

an early repair to thetop area to achipped area at the rear with a minor chip at the top in the same area.

Female has a small chip to the inner rim of her basket.

All as perpictures.
