DescriptionA wonderful genuine rareEnglishantique Edwardian\"novelty\"solid sterling silverring box in the form of a coal scuttle by the silversmiths Sydney & Co - 1901-1913and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1905.Excellent quality original111 year old example, (definitely not a modern re-production), a very uncommon piece, has a hinged silver lid with silver mounted carrying handle on the top and it is decorated with beautiful embossed cherubs/angels. Inside it has its original undamaged velvet and silk lining with padded ring slot. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions. The ultimate in antique silver ring boxes!

DateEnglish antique Edwardian solid sterling silver, with full English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1905,(date letter \"f\"). There are further matching hallmarks on the lid.Maker, Silversmiths initials \"S & Co\", (Sydney & Co - 1901-1913).
ConditionLovely condition, no splits or cracks, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents, just tiny little age-related surface bruises, really nothing much. Tiny repair on the hinge cover on the base, again really nothing much at all. The silver lid hinge works perfectly and opens and closes securely and the interior velvet and silk lining is 100% original and in excellent condition. With beautiful embossed cherubs/angels decoration and there are no added engraved inscriptions.Superb rare English antique solid sterling silver novelty \"coal scuttle\" ring box. Very hard to find a genuine antique example!
