8 PICTURES HERECONDITION: IT’S INSUPERB CONDITION THROUGHOUTTHIS IS AN ANTIQUE\'GEORGE V\'LOCKET OF GENEROUS PREPORTIONS, AMOST ‘EYE CATCHING’ ITEM OF ANTIQUE JEWELLERY (See 5 Pence and U.S. quarter set in inset picture for size comparisons). This OVAL lockethas GORGEOUS CRISP foliate engraving to the front with a vacant scroll shaped cartouche centre set. There\'s a gold top holding ring having an inner diameter of 3.2 mm.The reverse of the locket has a similar foliate and flower engraving throughout. Within the engraving at the base are the full hallmarks for 15ct gold and confirmation of being assayed in Birmingham in 1919. 15.625 for 15ct gold standard, Anchor logo for Birmingham assay office and low case date letter \'u\' for 1919. Maker\'s mark is \'A.E.J\'

This locket is that lovely mellow rose gold found in jewellery items from the years bordering the turning of the 19th/20th century (not today\'sbrash pinkrose gold).Yes, this locket is in excellent condition, no dints,bumps or scratches, indeed no blemishes at all with superb crisp engraving, and nice polished surfaces throughout.(Please note that any markings onthis locket are due to reflection rather than a blemish ordiscolouration of the gold surface).It will offer the new owner many more yearssafeguarding your most treasured keepsake or photographs. The hinge is sound and firm, the locket opens easily and shuts well with a reassuring “click”.
