Misc. Details: This one is interesting,as we know that HMT has been producing watches for decades, and there are many NOS models for sale on the internet. As theyare still in production, so this could even be just a few weeks old [which is basically what it looks like], or it could be 30 years old too. We do know that the HMT stands for Hindustan Machine and Tool and they have been producing a wide line of very good \"mid-grade\" timepieces in India for decades. Many were originally made and sold for exclusive military use, but were very popular and quickly spread to the general public, withnow literally millionsin production. The movement doesn\'t really help us determine the year of production either,as they have used the same basiccalibre and series [more or less] from the very start.Either way we are offering this beautiful looking timepiece at a good price....and you can do some internet, etc., research to figure out the date of production and any other details. We would be pleasedto add to our description any further information someone might have. As it is a Para-Shock model, we know it should be water resistant to some degree, but we stilldo not recommend exposing any vintage watch towater.This one is a little bigger than most like it, and with the small bezel area and very sharp looking textured dial - your eyes go directly to the super dial and it\'s sure to get lots of compliments. We just oiled and timed the 17 jewel mechanical wind movement which keeps excellent time,and all else appears super on this one. Solid-cut gold hands with a red sweep seconds hand, and raised gold hour markers with black print and some black accents really make this one stand-out. The strap is a bit of a mystery as well - as it does appear to be leather and looks new, but is marked as Banlon on the back. All in all, a very sharp and comfortable watch on the wristthat keeps great time and looks like a very expensive piece - so only you will know how little you paid.
