Superb 19thc Black Forest oak carving with the head of a Bulldog carved centrally. Dating c.1870.
Excellent and really beautiful attention to carved detail on this fine and quality carved piece of Black Forest. Carving takes the form of a wide branch with oak leaves and acorns carved in relief. To the centre is the head of a Bulldog with original glass/bead amber eyes.
Measures some 4.5\" height x some 19.25\" length.
Excellent and lovely age commensurate condition. Bottom part of one leaf is possibly broken off but it is hard to tell whether this is the way it was carved originally. Nothing of import. All as per images.
