This is a top quality carved wood Black Forest Pastoral group with cow with cow-herd and a shepherdess with group of sheep & goats on a hillock with a gnarled tree stump. It is set on a shaped base with carved border. Has it\'s original dry unpolished surface.Size of base approx 7.1/8in x 4.1/2in (18 x 11.5cm). Height approx 7in (17.8cm).I estimate it dates circa 1880-1910.We are happy to combine postage for multiple purchases where possible. Description This is a top quality carved wood Black Forest Pastoral group with cow with cow-herd and a shepherdess with group of sheep & goats on a hillock with a gnarled tree stump. It is set on a shaped base with carved border. Has it\'s original dry unpolished surface.
Size of base approx 7.1/8in x 4.1/2in (18 x 11.5cm). Height approx 7in (17.8cm).
I estimate it dates circa 1880-1910.
Condition - overall very good but with chips to hat rims and lacking a couple of horns. The tree stump is hollow at the top and may possibly have had a small glass spill vase but if so it would have been very small as the hole is very small. It is loose on the base on one side. Some dust in the crevises. No name but there is a small round mark on the base which may have been a paper label - see photos or ask questions.We are happy to combine postage for multiple purchases where possible.
