SUPERB ANTIQUE MICRO MOSAIC BROOCH / ST PETERS SQUARE- VATICAN - EARLY 1800s:

I have for sale a superb quality Italian Micro Mosaic brooch.
Brooch was made in the early to mid part of the 1800s.
Made in Italy and probably purchased by some wealthy person embarking on the Grand Tour.
Brooch depicts a scene of Saint Peters Square,Vatican City.
The scene is made up of hundreds of tiny glass tiles called tesserae.
These tiles are set into an oval of gold stone this has a chamfered edge running all the way around.
The reverse side has original pin and c clasp, gold stone to one back edge has a small flea bite chip.
Gold stone is very bright and shiny ,shimmers in the light .
Image has no missing tiles it is in superb condition.
Colours and detail are lovely.

Size - 4.3 cm x 3.3 cm.
