This isa superb New Hall of England, teapot ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the Georgian period of the 18th century.

Dates about c1800.

This and similar items from the same period were part of a large collection of which:

all at one time were part of the collection and originally owned by Geoffrey Godden.

Geoffrey Godden lived about 10 miles from where i live and was renowned in the world of porcelain.

He was a regular contributor to the tv programme: The Antiques Roadshow and had an encyclopedia which is used as the main reference of: understanding the marks of English porcelain & pottery.

These were all part of a recent large house clearance, locally, where the owner was a collector of fine china of the period of the Georgian period, about c1800 and we are to understand, all these pieces were once owned by Geoffrey Godden.

No labels as the majority of other items had.

New Hall c1800.

A decorative teapot with the hand decoration of flowers & areas of red ribbons.

Decorative handle.

Unmarked except: underneath the pattern no of 195 which is typical of New Hall.

Of an English origin.

Porcelain, china.

Height of about 6inches.

Max overall dia including handle and spout of about 9.5inches.

Base size of about 5.75 x 5inches.

Dia of lid of about 2.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is very good and is subject to:

an old hairline under the spout.

A minor nibble to the finial of the lid.

Besides being a very collectable, 18th century New Hall teapot with its wonderful shape & hand decoration of flowers & ribbons, dating c1800, from the Geoffrey Godden collection, would also look fabulous displayed.
