This is a superb oak wooden carved corbel with the mounted head of a dog corbel of which:

During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the mid period of the 19th century.

Of a Black Forest origin.

Superb intricate intricate carving of the dogs head.

Facing to the left.

Mounted onto the decorative corbel.

Intricate carving of the head of the dog.

Decorative rear with the intricate relief carvings.

It hasan overall sizeof about 8 x 6inches.

Max depth of about 3inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent andis not subject to any major blemishes except:

a chip to the top of the rear ear with a minor chip to the front ear.
