SUPERB PAIR: MID 19thC STAFFORDSHIRE RUSSET RED & WHITE COWS & CALVES c1860s:

This isa superb pair of Staffordshire russet red & white cows with suckling calves, large spill vases to the rears, mounted onto the decorative bases ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the mid 19th century.

Date about c1860s.

Pottery.

A left & a right.

Pair of horned cows with the russet red & white colours.

Each has a suckling calf to the front of.

To the rears the large decorative spill vases with the decorative stems.

Both are portrayed mounted onto the decorative oval hollow bases with the green coloured pastures with the streams to the fronts.

Each hasan overall height of about 10.5inches.

Max overall size of the hollow bases of about 8.25 x 4.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to:

any major blemishes except:

one of the calves has the loss of a rear foot.

Three of the four horns are subject to a chip.

Due to age: minor areas of loss of colour.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable, heavy, pair of mid 19th centuryStaffordshire russet red & white horned cows with the suckling calves, large spill vases to the rears, mounted onto the decorative bases with the streams to the fronts, 1860s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
