This is a superb pair of very large Staffordshire white & gilt seated spaniel dogs of which:
during our research: we have been informed they certainly datefrom the 19th century:
date aboutc1880s.
A pair of very large Staffordshire white & gilt seated spaniel dogs with:
the wonderful facial decoration.
Pointed noses.
Superb colouring with the overall white & gilt colouring and facial decoration to both with:
the gilt chains, collars & locks.
bushy tails.
A left and a right.
Pottery.
Wonderful overall portrayals.
Each has an overall height of about 12.5 & 12inches.
Hollowed bases with an overall sizes underneathof about 7.25 x 3.75inches.
Max dias including bushy tails of about 9.5inches.
Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to:
any major blemishes except:.
glaze fritting to the rear to one.
Due to age: both are subject to areas of loss of colour with:
overalls areas of crazing, a couple appearing as hairlines to the rear.
