These are a quite superb pair of Rousseau spelter male & female figurines ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from art nouveau period of the 19th century and are of a french origin.

Date about c1880.

Each has Rousseau to the decorative bases.

Par Rousseau is a french sculptor.

Wonderful overall portrayals of the male & female figurines.

Male in dress attire associated with a french fisherman is portrayed calling with:

the female portrayed with a fishing basket in similar dress attire.

Superb detailing.

Both are mounted on original wooden cylinder stepped bases.

Each has an overall height of about 15inches.

Max overall dia of the wooden base is about 5.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes.

All as perpictures.

Besides being a very collectable, original & heavy Rousseau spelter male & female figurines from the art nouveau period of the 19th century, c1880, both would also look fabulous displayed.
