Description A stunningEnglish antiquesolid sterling silver& faux tortoiseshelltable box by the silversmiths Corke & Apthorp - (1917-1927), in lovely conditionand with full English silver hallmarks for London 1922. Superb quality genuine95 year old sterling silver box, a good size, with its original tight fitting silver pull-off lid which has a beautiful undamagedfaux tortoiseshell top and is decorated with fine Art Nouveau inlaid silver pique-work. Inside it is still fully gilded and as a bonus there areno added engraved presentation inscriptions or monograms. Weighs a heavy approx 46 grams.

MeasurementsNice size, measures approx. 2.65 inches (67mm) in diameter and is 1.2 inches (32mm) in height.

Date English antique solid sterling silver,with a full set ofEnglish silver hallmarks for London 1922, (date letter \"g\"). Good matching hallmarks stamps on box and lid.

Maker Silversmiths initials \"C & A, (Corke & Apthorp - 1917-1927).

ConditionLovely condition, no splits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, definitely no wear holes and no nasty knocks or dents,just a couple of tiny little surface bruises, really nothing much at all, and a superb box. The silver pull-off lid is definitely original and the perfect tight fit and most importantly the faux tortoiseshell top is undamaged withnosplits or hairlines and has a great colour. The inlaid silver pique decoration is pristine with no losses and the interior gilding is original and mostly all still intact. There are no engraved personal inscriptions.
