Description -A solid sterling silver tea caddy by William Comyns.Dated for 1899 and assay for London.The tea caddy comes in a lovely cylinder shaped body and is beautifully embossed with scenes of a animals, people and floral decoration.Comes with a dome shaped pull off lid with matching hallmarks which is to beautifully embossed.No engraved initials, monograms or inscriptions.The silversmith of the caddy is very well known for unusual items and very high quality this is no different. A splendid piece.A very unusual tea caddy which would be a delightful addition to a collection or is ready to be used.
Silver weight 153 grams.
The condition is very good.There are no dents, knocks, holes or splits.The embossed decoration does have some slight wear from polishing but are no holes.Just the odd small ding, light surface mark from use and may of have a small repair to the lid which is nothing to noticeable.The lid fits tightly to the body and pulls off just as it should.The lid and body comes with no engraved initials, monograms or inscriptions.The interior is very clean with a little wear nothing too bad.The hallmarks to the body and lid are a little rubbed from polishing.Stands perfectly well and looks superb on display.Overall a splendid tea caddy which is ready to be used or displayed.
The measurements are height 10 cm, diameter across bottom 7 cm and across top 7.3 cm.
Any strange marks in the pictures are reflections not damage.
