This Royal Doulton character jug is in pristine vintage condition. Sairey Gamp was produced from 1939 - 1986. Sairey Gamp is a nurse in the novel Martin Chuzzlewit by Charles Dickens. The caricature became popular with the British Public. A type of umbrella became known as a gamp because she always carried one and is seen on the handle of the vintage character jug.
