This sale is for a stunning early handled Samson style Oriental Reticulated Bowl decorated in an Armorial Crest pattern with gold gilding and hand painted flowers. The piece has embossed decorations also. Samson\'s makers\' mark on the back. The Bowl is 2-3/4\" tall and measures 10-1/4\" from handle to handle. When measured across the \"bowl\" portion it is 9-1/4\" in diameter.
The Bowl has a scalloped reticulated border which is decorated in a garland of leaves accented in Burgundy. The body of the Bowl features a gilded crisscross design alternating with hand painted flowers. The center crest features a lion and oriental bird with the Crest between them. It is set off by a gilded geometric design. Please see all my photos for they are part of my description.
There are no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. The painting is very vivid on this piece. Any \"fading\" in paint color is from my camera\'s flash.
