Only those handmade Autographs that somehow made it to the end finishing process before becoming \"failings\" enjoy significant Autograph characteristics & become Estella pipes. And one can see how that is true with this deeply rusticated brand new one. Though it is mostly hidden in the gorgeous rustication, it’s a vertical grained pipe. The rim is covered in bulbous Plateau grain and the stamping area at the bottom of the shank is awash in birds-eye end grain. Pipe also boasts a generous Tobacco chamber, 2 inches deep. Draft hole is dead center flush with the bottom of the bowl. Matching acrylic Cumberland shank extension assures a strong & durable tenon to mortise union. No cracked shanks with this pipe. Pipe does not accept a filter. Pipe weighs approximately 2.2 ounces. Should be a fairly cool smoking instrument due to the heavy rustication.

The bird\'s–eye, or end grain at the bottom of the bowl of a straight grain pipe absorbs moisture more quickly than other grains.
