Description

For sale isa stunning figural centrepiece manufactured inGermanyby theVon Schierholz factory in Thuringia Germany in the late 19th Century.

The figure shows four figures each depicting each of the four seasons surrounding a central tree and floral rocky mound. The figures are dressed in traditional clothing. It is a stunning and impressively large figure which would be a superb example to a collection.

Condition Report

It is in very good display condition for it\'s vintage but does have some areas for consideration as shown ringed in the numerous close up photos and as now described. There is some restoration to the watering can (this is the most noticeable) held by the lady (Spring) as has the same figure\'s left arm. The sickle held by one of the men (Autumn) has it\'s handle restored as has his hand and edge of his coat. There is also a black mark to the underside of the hat. The other man (Winter) has a small repair to his hat and also the tips of his skates. In addition there are small minor losses to some of the applied flowers and leaves but these are minimal.

Despite these factors the figure still displays superbly and is considered to be a fine example.

Delivery Detail
