Large Antique Rare Segal Scandinavian Padlock with TWO (2) Working Keys

This is a rare antique padlock made by Segal in great condition considering its age. Segal made this padlock in a few sizes and this one is large. The mechanics work perfectly well and the lock is clean inside. The keys, however, tend to be sticky. Both of the keys were handmade and after making the first one, I wasn\'t happy with its performance so I made a second one to learn that they both operate the same. I am certain it is the fault of the keys not the lock because once you turn the cylinder operates very smoothly with no issues. Based on the condition and appearance, I would say this lock spent very little time if any at all in actual use or was indoors.

Due to financial circumstances and my daughter’s health condition, I am parting with most of my lock collection. My daughter may need to undergo another surgery but due to her age this surgery will cost $10k and require a hospital overnight stay. I don’t want to give a false impression this isn’t a life or death situations in anyways but we have been dealing with her foot for 2 years now since birth and I have a strong belief that at a point soon the Dr will say the surgery is a must and I want to start preparing now. I have been in the lock-sport community for some years and many of you may know me but since my daughter’s birth I have put the hobby aside to again deal with daughter health.Please follow me as I will be listing many more locks.

I have impressioned keys for a lot of my locks and I will try to state whether the key is hand-made or not. If a key is hand-made and you plan to use it on a regular basis, I strongly recommend making a copy (local locksmith $1 for a copy) and using the copy as during the process of impression the keys can often weaken. I have always checked for cracks in my keys and would always re-make a key should I see any weakness but to be on the safe side just make a copy. As for collection or hobby purposes, these keys are perfectly fine.
