Set of Six Reproduction or Replacement US Cavalry McClellan Saddle Pommel & Cantle Attachment Straps

This is a set of six beautifully hand-made ¾ x 34 inch heavy natural leather straps with nine holes and brass buckles of the type used to attach a blanket roll or other equipment to the front and back of the McClellan saddle that was a US Cavalry standard from about 1860 through 1945. The buckles are heavy brass and the leather is very sturdy stuff, hand-sewed to the buckles. All are perfectly supple, without wear or cracking. None have writing on them of any kind so we do not know where they came from, but we bought them less than 20 miles south of the old 4th and 7th US Cavalry Post at Fort Meade, South Dakota recently. Very good unused condition and offered with an extremely low opening offer and without a reserve price.
