Not often is the entire series of all six Dinky 1939 American Cars offered at the same time.
This series, originally issued in 1939, was reissued in 1946. According to the Dinky reference book authored by Dr. Ed Force, and the earlier book by Cecil Gibson, the models offered here would be from the postwar series as evidenced by their black bases,and the colors of their bodies. Each model is in very good to excellent used condition. That is, none are pristine, or \"as new\" , each having paint nicks, some more than others. Metal condition is fine; no visible fatigue, cracks, breaks, or dents. Tires on all are good, with the Oldsmobile having two tires which are developing cracks, and the Studebaker having some flat spots. All the others, considering their age, have matured well. Realizing that in their youth,these models may have been played with by children, as they were intended to be, though possibly acquired individually in later years, this group overall has survived very well. Offered as is, without boxes, models had been displayed on shelves.
