Here is a wonderful, antique stoneware crock - the dark brown, ovoid shape with 2 lug handles - and handpainted on front with cobalt flowers and impressed with J. Minier incorporated into a flower on a spiraling stem. Height is 11\"; diameter at top is 5 1/8\". Condition is very good - no cracks, but there are 6 old chips at rim (2 inner rim, 1 on flat top, 3 outer rim - see photo 10 for largest, on reverse) and a small flaw from manufacture to reverse body (see photo 8). Still stunning! As a note: There is a record of a Minier family making stoneware crocks in northEastern Ohio.On May-27-18 at 14:21:42 PDT, seller added the following information:
A kind er has informed me that Minier stoneware is included inF. R. Treichler\'s A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware (2011), available from The Bookseller (Akron, Ohio).
