I was going through some of my grandmothers things and she and her sister, Patricia, were both James Thurber fans, as there were many of his old books in her collection, and this letter fell out of a copy of Thurber Country. It was sent from Paris, written in London in 1958. The letter is in impeccable condition considering it is 70 years old. It was written on colne valley parchment (see photo). James Thurber signed the letter in blue ink. The envelope the letter was sent in has a return address from Mr. James Thurber, Hotel Continental, 3 Rue de Castiglione, Paris (see photo). This is a very cool find! Not sure what else to do with it aside from sell it. There are no tears or stains on the parchment. There is no wear. It was in the envelope for the last 70 years probably. On the back of the letter there is some very small coloring from the envelope. Also in the photos. I am well aware of this items worth and at this price, one could resell and come out on top!
