This set is a gorgeous silver gilt christening set from Finland. It has a distinct art nouveau feel to it, though it was made in 1967. I have listed it as a Christening set as it is similar to others - with a fork and a spoon - however it could be a pickle set or similar so would make a posh addition to the Christmas buffet!!!! The fork is a two tine fork while the spoon has a shell shaped bowl, both the tines of the fork and the bowl of the spoon are gilded. The handles are thin and split at the end to create a rose stem and leaf (the art nouveau influence). They are solidly made of 815 weight silver but are delicately appointed and feel great in the hand. The set comes in its orginal box marked for Linnan Kello - a company which started in Helsinki but moved to Hämenlinna.
Excellent condition and in original sales box, a great idea for Christening, wedding, house warming or Christmas gifts
