This is a Singer Sewing Machine, Hand Crank Model #15-98, serial #C2912160. The \"C\" serial numbers were made in Wiitenberg Prussia Germany, beginning in 1908. When Russian army invaded Germany in 1945, they stripped all the machinery from the Singer Company\'s Wittenberg factory. You can see the badge on this machine is in Russian, it was finished in the Podolsk factory in Russia. So the closest I can come to dating this would be prior to 1945. This has fascinating history!
It was working fine and sewing a lovely seam but now the tension needs to be repaired. I haven\'t had time to work on it so I\'ll leave that to the new owner. The base has been glued and clamped because it was a little wobbly, now it\'s solid.This is for PICK UP ONLY in Swedesboro NJ, 08085 or very local delivery can be arranged. The right hand side of the base is a storage compartment. I did not take a photo of it covered, but there is a black metal cover for it. Also, the wood dome cover locks and the key is included, although a screwdriver will work just as well. There is also an extra shuttle for the bobbin.
