For sale today is a very nicely restored curved top stagecoach trunk with a beautiful restoration.I found two patent date of Nov, 1869 and July 1862 which makes this neat old stagecoach trunk as much as 145 years old - a true antique.This trunk was in good solid condition when the restoration started and the wood bottom is good, has had multiple coats of clear applied and has three original slats on the bottom. The two original hinges are HD, tight, polished, work well and the lid closes well. The lid stay is new cloth. There are 11 pieces of polished original hardware on the trunk. The center lock is original, has been polished and there is no key. The original tray is long gone and the interior has been removed. The mechanical latches are original,fancy, tight and work well.The metal/tin is smooth and is in very good condition. There are five solid oak slats on the trunk. Two original steam bent oak handles are there and in good condition.
