The complete set (Snow White and all 7 Dwarfs) belonged to my Aunt. They were given to her in Holland in 1938 when my great Uncle Max worked for RKO Films as the head of their Dutch office. The dolls were part of the decor for the theatre in Amsterdam where the movie \"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs\" was shown.Unfortunately one of the boxes, containing four of the Dwarfs, was stolen when we moved in the early 1970s. I have not attempted to clean these dolls.
SNOW WHITE DOLL: Please note: the apricot \"apron\" shown in the photo is (thank you to a knowledgeable member) actually a cape!I am told this 16\" doll was made by an English or French toy company, and she is referred to as a \"Clelia Doll.\" She has movable leg and arm joints. She has kid leather shoes and a satin dress. The apron does not fit, which leads me to believe that perhaps the dress originally belonged to another doll? Her face and hands are celluloid. One eye has \"faded\" (chipped). She has a lace-trimmed, satin petticoat. Her dress closes in the back with snaps.
DWARFS: Made by Chad Valley, Harborne, England. 10\" tall. DOC has the original hang tag but does not have a belt. DOPEY AND HAPPY have no hang tags but do have their belts. These are full-cloth dolls with hand-painted features. They are in good condition but are soiled.
