Offered is a nice antique set of solid brass bookends. The figure cast is of the early Federal Eagle and 3-star shield. This is ananomaly since the number of shield stars were normally 13 during the early 1800\'s. I am not exactly sure what the 3 stars represent but US quarters from the 1850-1870 era have a very similar eagle with shield design. This item comes from a lot of very antique military collectibles and is absolutely as described. The bookends weigh in at over 3 lbs each.
