Exquisite Antique mid 19th Century Solid Silver & Rams Horn Scottish Snuff Mull
Description - Finegoodgauge solid silver mounted rams horn with hinged lid, the horn has a lovely colour and patina with an exceptional curled shape, the silver mount has a nice foliate band and thumb piece with the hand engraved inscription \"From a friend.\", the lid also has a very good example banded agate stone, the interior is silver-gilt (Gold washed), the silver is unmarked but has been silver tested positive and is of sterling 925 grade sterling silver.
Condition - The snuff mill is in excellent condition, there are no dents, dinks, splits, holes or repairs to the silver, the hinge is nice and tight and in perfect working order shutting the lid nice and tight, the interior silver-gilt is nice and bright with no wear or rubbing and the inset agate stone is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, the horn is also in exceptional condition with no splits or defects.
Dimensions & Weight - The snuff mull is 10 4cm long x 7.5cm wide the weight is 117.2 grams.
