Superb Late Victorian/Early Edwardian Solid Sterling Silver Aide Memoir/Card Case Made By Samuel M Levi
Description - Splendid solid silver hinged rectangular aide memoir with snap clasp and two thumb pieces and a suspension loop, the aide memoir has is beautifully hand engraved on both side and has a central blank cartouche, the sides have a wavy pattern. The interior is leather bound and has two pockets for visiting cards and a ivorine writing pad, there is also a pencil.
The aide memoir is fully hallmarked with the anchor forBirmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter \"b\" for the year 1901 and the maker\'s mark \"S.M.L\" which is Samuel Levi.
Condition - The aide memoir is in good condition, there are are no dents, dinks, splits, holes or repairs, the clasp snaps the case shut tightly and the hinge is in excellent working order, there is some rubbing of the hallmarks, there are no rips, freying or holes to the interior leather but has some spot stains which could be cleaned out.
Dimensions & weight - The aide memoire is 8.5cm wide x 5.1cm long, the weight is 63.1 grams.
