Scarce large Sputnik Soviet Space Souvenir with musical base. Condition is very fine, no dents or damage. Good condition to the finish on the base, lucite, and metal. When wound by the key under the base, there is a musical piece that plays in Russian (that I do not recognize but likely the Russian anthem.) After the tune is complete it chimes several times, just as the sputnik satellite did from orbit. The bottom has a wood cover.The top of the globe like base shows the continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, Antartica, and Australia, and reads: 4X-1957 CCCP. A wonderful souvenir from the cold war era.
