Here is an adorable vintage/retired Steinbach West Germany wooden wood Christmas ornament, a \"Viking\" pirate soldier holding his shield and hatchet. It does have thetraditional red and white Steinbach label on the bottom. It\'s about 3 7/8\" tall. No original box.
This style was produced in the mid 1980\'s, and is very well made. They all have these round wooden disc bases so they can be used as ornaments or figures. In very good condition with very little paint loss and minor imperfections in the wood noted. I did notice on the white \"fur\" on his back, there was some red paint staining. I think at manufacture when the fur was glued on, some paint bled through from the body-it is darker as it gets closer to the body. If the fur is \"fluffed\" it can hardly be seen(just kind of looks pink), and it still presents very well. See the final two pictures. These ornaments were well loved and used, and there may be small imperfections I do not easily see. Please use the zoom picture feature, and ask any questions regarding the item\'s condition, in case there is something I may have missed. I try to point out any MAJOR issues.
