Sterling Collared \'Hunting Ware\' StonewarePitcher

Very GoodVintage silver collared dipped stoneware pitcher with stag hunting andtavern scenes of cream relief-moulded overlay (rider on horse, dogs,Toby on barrel, windmill, man breaking bread, fence & tree,family dinner with hog) applied around the body and a leaf at the baseof the handle. First produced during the Doulton Watts period (1840s)these ‘Hunting Ware’ Toby pitchers have remained virtually unchangedfor over a hundred years. This is an early Edwardian example datingcirca 1903.Dimensions: 7 ⅝” high;5 ⅝” diameterMarkings: impressedDOULTON / LAMBETH mark with a d date code for 1903Condition: Very GoodVintage Condition – no damage, no repair. The sterling silver collarhas been left unpolished as found; the marks are crisp and legible.
