ENGLISH STERLING SILVER ASHTRAY BOX

A gorgeous English silver ashtray box in the form of aGeorgiancheese tray server.Please note thereproductiondown to the smallest details.
Heraldiccoatof arms on the top cover, with 18th century style hinge. Displaying aclam-shellthumb rest, with a double line gadroon along the top edge with spaced scroll work.Carved and turned woodbalusterhandle in classic sterling mount with silver pinattachment.
Rounded bottom base stands firm and level on four stepped hoof feet with matching mounts to the base.
The piece is 4 inches long, 3 inches wide, stands 1 1/2 inches tall, width to edge of handle 6 inches.Box weighs 4.8oz (139grams)
Punched with with the makers mark of Garrard & Co, Birmingham city mark, lion passant for assayed English sterling, and a date letter of \"s\" within a top/bottom pinched envelope for 1967. Also, marked by lion passant and date letter \"s\" under the top cover. Stamped on the bottom of the base Garrard & Co. 112 Regent St. W(est) Although made in Birmingham, the pieces was sold in their Flagship London store.
