Up for sale is a unique set of early antique Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. These are pretty old- probably 30s and are handmade. I am a collector and this is the only pair I have ever found that are stuffed with dried breadcrumbs inside stockings (maybe not bread, but that is what is looks like). The legs are stuffed with lumps of cotton, but the bodies are stuffed with something that looks like dried bread or little croutons! The faces are hand embroidered with cloth patch noses and black button eyes. Each has an I love You in a heart, but Ann\'s is lower down on her body for some reason. Both have some wear and damage to an extent. Ann\'s neck is ripped open a bit (that is how I found the unusual stuffing) and there are also some smaller rips in different areas of each doll. Both have discoloration and stains. The photos do not really do this pair justice- they are adorable and will be hard for me to let go (hence the price). I don\'t think Ann\'s clothing is all original since the apron is handmade, but is old and seems to look appropriate for the age. They are 21\" tall and look awesome on display.
