Stunning Huge Domed Bisbee Turquoise Ring Exceptional High Grade Stone 1940\'s:
$175.00

This is a listing for an earlier, circa 40\'s to 50\'s and perhaps even earlier, Native American turquoise ring.
As expected with an early piece, it\'s unmarked and tested as sterling. It features a large and truly stunning natural turquoise stone from the Bisbee mine in Arizona. It has a freeform shape with a very thick and high profile that measures 13/16th inches in length and 5/8th across it\'s widest section. From the base of it\'s bezel to the top surface of the stone measures .25 inches, so it\'s a big stone with a nice high profile. The face of the ring measures .75 inches wide and one inch in length. It weighs a sturdy 10.6 grams and is a size 9. Show it off in the center of the hand, if your ring finger is smaller. It deserves center stage.
The stone ishigh-grade, very hard with a an excellent polish and a translucent deep rich blue color…a quality seen in extra good turquoise, along with visible marks of the hand cutting process seen with early work. It was set in a smooth bezel with a lot of the stone set above the bezel for a nice presentation… another sign of it\'s nice old age. The stone was given a flat surface and gently beveled edges. Bisbee is hard and can take a good edge and wonderful polish. A small amount of matrix on one side is exposed, a frequent quality of natural turquoise. It\'s very hard and stable, not crumbling or soft. Normally it would be covered by the bezel, but as mentioned, this is a very thick stone and the high sides add to it\'s beauty. The artist added a simple twisted rope as the only accent. The band is thick and 3/16th of an inch wide, so slightly larger than theaverage and might fit a little tighter. It\'s flat on both sides and chisel split along the entire shank. It\'s maintained an excellent shape.
This ring is beautiful both for it\'s simplicity of design and of course, for thehigh-grade turquoise stone. It was meant to be worn often and admired for a lifetime. Thank you for looking.
