This listing is for a stunning vintage evening bag in very good condition. It appears to be made from a brocade type fabric which is primarily gold in color, with tiny accents of the jewel tones of green and burgundy. The bag is covered with silver beading and decorated with small green rhinestones, resembling peridots, as well as these same stones encircled with clear jackets, which look like little flowers. There are also tiny gold metal flowers interspersed all over the bag. The sides and the clasp are adorned with lovely green stones that would appear to be jade. However, not being a gemologist, I can\'t guarantee this. This purse is absolutely gorgeous, with no detail having been spared. Even the bails which hold the gold linked chain handle are engraved. It measures 6 inches tall and is 6 inches wide at its base, narrowing to 3.25 inches at the top. The maker is unknown.
This bag is in remarkably good condition. Due to its age, it is possible that a few of the beads are missing. However, if so, it is certainly not noticeable. If you will examine the photo of the bottom of the bag, it appears that one of the jacketed green stones may be missing. The interior appears to be made of satin and is clean, with the exception of 2 small lipstick marks on the side. Please zoom in on the top right section of the last photo to see this. The bag comes complete with a matching fabric covered foldout combination mirror and pouch, as well as a coin purse with a lovely engraved clasp. The back of the coin purse has a few small lipstick stains. See close-up photo. The handle currently on the purse is not original. Fortunately, the original handle, which is a lovely, delicate chain with a gold filagree jade? topped ornament on each end, was found inside the coin purse, where it still resides. It attaches by running the chain through the bails. One of the links attaching the stone to the chain is missing and needs repair, which should be very minor.
