This portrait miniature is truly a beauty. I am guessing this is from the times of Elizabeth I because of the dress. Hand painted on porcelain with light brown hair and blue eyes with the collar ruff and a black velvet like dress. I bought this many years ago and left it in my case until now. I have never tried to remove the back to see if it is signed on the back because of any type of damage. The gilded frame is either bronze or brass. heavy and in very good condition.. The painting measures 3 1/2 inch by 2 3/4 inches. The frame is 10 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. It is a treasure for a portrait miniature collector
