Up for sale is this super ultra rare circa 1780s\' german brass sundial & compass made by david beringer which was a very famous sundial and compasses maker , his works are held In some very important collections like the collection of the metropolitan museum , it is signed \" david beringer fecit nuremb\" which tells us it was made in nuremberg in Germany , On the back of the compass there is an inscription that says \" No 63, germany , c.1780.
This amazing sundial & compass is all hand made from brass with all the engravings hand chased to it with amazing scrolled design and with roman letters , the sundial face is sitting On 3 bronze stylistic legs , the glass cover of the compass is hand blown ao you can see little air bulbs inside it .
This very rare example is important because it is all hand made , and the general condition is excellent .
