Superb 19thC Cased BEN WADE Antique SILVER Briar AMBER Estate Pipe Pipa Pfeife:

Here we have a stunning 19th century Ben Wade antique bent briar estate pipe,complete with four sectionsof sterling silver and a lovely egg-yolkamber stem.The briar has a beautiful grain, and the pipe comes complete with its original fitted presentation case.
\"The company was founded by Benjamin Wade in 1860 in Leeds, Yorkshire, where it was located for over acentury. Ben Wade started as a pipe trader, but yet in the 1860\'s he established a workshop to produce briarpipes. The pipes were made in very many standard shapes - always extensively classic and \"very British\".Ben Wade offered a very high standard of craftsmanshipand quality without any fills. Thus the pipes wereconsidered to be high grade and a major competitor toother famous English brands\" - Pipedia
The pipe has been well smoked but remains in very good condition, just with a few bitemarks on the stem, anda couple of small dents on the silver bowl rim.
There is a good layer of carbon in the chamber.
The shank and stem sections screw together very securely, and air flows through the pipe freely.
\"B.W\" in an oval on the side of the briar shank, with \"B.W\" again on the ferrule above three hallmarks.Unfortunately the hallmarks are very difficult to make out, so I have been unable to date the pipe exactly.
The case is also in very good condition and fixes shut securely.
