This isa quite superb Minton\'s of England, majolica teapot ofwhich:
During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the victorian period of the 19th century.
Dates about c1870s.
Underneath the incised minton\'s mark, year number mark and the pattern no of 1716.
A majolica teapot with its wonderful shape and design.
modelled as a coconut with the coconut leaf spout.
twig handle and stand with shoots of green leaves from the twigs.
Oval lid with the mushroom finial.
Porcelain, china.
Height of about 6inches.
Max overall dia including handle and spout of about 9inches.
Base size of the twig feet of about 4 x 3inches.
Overall size of the cover of about 3 x 2.25inches.
Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition of the teapot is very good and is subject to:
a very minor faint short hairline to the spout with crazing in the same area.
The teapot is also subject to areas of fine crazing.
The cover has had an early repair to the mushroom finial at the base with:
an early repair centrally with a chip to the edge of which:
with today\'s modern & advanced restoration techniques, could certainly be improved.

Besides being a very collectable, 19th century Minton\'s majolica teapot with its wonderful shape & decoration, modelled as a coconut with the leaf spout, twig handle and base, mushroom finial to the cover, dating c1870s, would also look fabulous displayed.
