We are offering for sale a superb quality Georgian silver 3-piece tea service comprising a teapot, sugar bowl and milk jug.

This fine Regency period teaset is decorated with floral gadroon mounts and has part fluted decoration to the lower bodies. As one might expect from one of the period\'s most important silversmiths, there are several features that raise this tea service above other inferior sets. Firstly, the quality of workmanship is exquisite, for example the expertise of the flush hinge is second to none and the finesse of decoration has been wonderfully executed - including the fabulous bracket feet. Both the sucriere and creamer are gilt (gold-wash) to the interiors. The teapot has a silver handle with heat insulators to protect the user, pours well and just look at the acanthus leaf decoration to the underside of the spout!

Testament to this rich heritage behind this service is the fantastic boar head crest that has been engraved to both sides of all three pieces.

The teaset has a really good weight and is in fine condition throughout. A magnificent George III period silver tea service!

MARKS: Full set of English hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) for London 1818 byJoseph Angell (JA). All pieces are marked.
