Offered is a wonderful early American coin silver stuffing spoon by noted Philadelphia silversmith William Seal, born and perhaps trained in Virginia but known to be working alone and in partnership in Philadelphia between 1810 and 1822. He lived until 1853 but the style of his silver does not post-date about 1820. This piece is gorgeous and in superb condition, with minimal wear and no dings, dents, splits or repairs. It is nicely engraved with a period script monogram and has a clear, well-struck maker\'s mark and Seal\'s clipped-corner eagle head pseudo-hallmark. This piece measures about 11 1/2 inches in length and weighs about 122 grams. American stuffing spoons or platter spoons this early are very uncommon. Among my other listings is another early Philadelphia coin silver platter spoon, also from the same collection. This piece by William Seal is extremely well preserved and would be a highlight of any serious collection of early American coin silver/Federal silver. All in all a superb piece!Winning buyer pays $7.15 for priority mail shipping in the U.S. Item may be returned within five days of receipt if item is not authentic or condition differs substantially from that described or shown. Thank you and please check out my other coin silver listings here and on the web! Best, \"Cliff Nunn Antique Silver\"
