MOORE’S PORCELAIN 1872-1905
A Superb Example of an English Porcelain Mounted Mantle Clock by Mooro & Co. The eight day movement with platform escapement, the discodial form case applied with lavish decoration of foliage and hops, supported by twin amorini on a gilt base with four very ornate scroll feet.
The circular ormolu dial with Roman numerals and attractive pierced steel hands. This clock was made during the last half of the Nineteenth Century.
Condition: Good original condition with no imperfections to porcelain except for a small loss to one leaf (see image). Light “browning” to porcelain in areas, this is typical of this porcelain and wear to gilding at high points (see feet). Movement has been professionally serviced, complete with winding key.
Height: (entire) 9” (23cm). Width: (at widest) 10” (25.5cm). Base Protrudence: (at center front) 6.5” (16.5cm).
