SUPERB PAIR: 19thC BLACKAMOOR MALE & FEMALE CHILD FIGURES CANDLE HOLDERS c1880s:

This is asuperb pair of blackamoor male & female child figures with the candle holders of which:
during our research we have been informed they certainly date from the 19th century.
Date about c1880s.
Of a european origin.
Pair of blackamoor child figures.
Pottery, terracotta.
Male boy figure carrying a hat, female figurine carry a hand warmer or muff.
Each is carrying a goblet which is used as a candle holder.
Both portrayed in wonderful dress attires with the delightful facial detailing.
Overall max base dias of about 3 x3inches.
Max overall dias of about 4inches.
Overall heights of about 7.25inches.
Max overall dias of the candleholders of just under an inch.
Condition:considering the age, the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes except:
minor areas of rubbing with nibbles with a glaze chip underneath to the base of the female.

Besides being a very collectable, pair of 19th century blackamoor male & female child figures, candle holders, with their wonderful overall portrayals, c1880s, both would also look fabulous displayed.
