This is anabsolutely fabulous, very rare, genuine authentic, hand painted original, signed and dated, by Charley Henry Clifford Baldwyn, landscape watercolour, depicting a very typical early 20th century \"figures on a Village Streetscene\"painted in 1910, the year after Charley Baldwyn left Royal Worcester. A truly magnificent, Charley Baldwyn landscape watercolour, of superb quality.Justa very nice beautifulpicture and theworkmanship is simply exquisite.I\'m afraid myphotos aren\'t doing thismagnificentwatercolour truejustice,because thelight refection is hindering the exquisite visual appeal, ofthis spectacular picture. In real life the colours are a lot crisper. Whoeverpurchases thispainting will not be disappointed because itsundoubtedly thebest Charley Baldwyn watercolour, we\'ve ever seen.

This picture hasbeen in a private Royal Worcester collection foryears, to the rear of thepicture it reads in pencil \'A Gloucestershire Village\' most probably hand written by charley Baldwyn. The watercolour is also hand signed bottom left C.H.C. Baldwyn.

We have removed the painting from its frame, cleaned, checked and authenticated that this watercolour is completely genuine and that the paper definately does date from the correct era, circa1910, and as you can just see, the painting also has a very tiny/minute amount of discolouration/foxing (top right), commensurate with 104 years of age, but nothing unusual.

This watercolourhas also been shown to a couple of Royal Worcester experts, andboth honestly believe this is a genuine Charley Baldwyn watercolour. So with thesefactors in mind this exquisite watercolour has been priced accordingly, for a worldrenownedRoyal Worcester/Royal Academy artist !!

Charles Henry Clifford Baldwyn (1859-1943) ....

Worked for Royal Worcesterbetween 1874-1909.Royal Worcester artists were encouraged to develop their own specialist subject and Charley Baldwyn\'s was birds in flightmainly swans.Hespecialised in moonlight scenes.Charley Baldwynalsoenjoyed painting watercoloursandsome of his work was exhibited at the Royal Academy.His work in watercolours is also well known and like many of the porcelain painters of the time, Charley produced private artwork to boost his income, during the hard times.
